Ventura Grand Inn

We stayed here Dec 28-30. The cost was $680 for 2 nights. Now, I have stayed in some pretty crappy motels, but never for $680. The floors were not carpeted like the pictures show and they were super dirty. We had to wear shoes to keep our feet clean. There were gross stains/body fluids clearly visible on the bedding. The bedding was not even big enough to cover the bed. The walls were very thin, and the window opened to the walkway, so you couldn’t open the blinds. The tub and shower had mildew and the towels were small and thin. When I complained to the owner, he said “I am too busy and there is nothing I can do” I would never stay here again.

Arrived late due to a snowstorm and was already exhausted. At check-in, the front desk gave me a key card to an occupied room, which allowed me to walk into another guest’s room—a serious security and privacy failure. The facility is old and poorly maintained. The shower was dirty, the AC is extremely loud, and sound insulation is very poor, so you can clearly hear people walking around. At 9:00 AM, housekeeping repeatedly knocked loudly on my door, despite checkout being 11:00 AM. It was loud and disruptive and completely unacceptable after an already stressful night. Overall, this place lacks basic cleanliness, professionalism, and concern for guest safety. I would not recommend staying here.

I stayed here for a week in October after a week at Mammoth Mountain Inn. From the outside I didn't have high hopes, especially since the pricing was half of what i spent at Mammoth Mountain. I was surprised by how large and clean the rooms were (stayed in 3 different rooms). They are doing outside renovations currently but have clearly already taken care of the inside. Great front desk service. I will definitely come back here or recommend to others.

Stayed one night in Ventura and was shocked by the cleanliness. The bedding had visible yellow and brown stains, the sheets looked dirty, and even the towel had multiple stains. This is completely unacceptable for any hotel. Cleanliness is the bare minimum, and this place failed badly. I would not stay here again.
