The Westin Monache Resort, Mammoth

Positive: Love it! Highly recommend! Negative: I stayed in the most basic room and layout was incredibly well thought out, maximizing both comfort and aesthetics. Everything from the stunning mountain view to the immaculately clean space screamed luxury.

The Westin Mammoth was an ok place to stay with our family of 4 right after the holidays, but had some shortcomings. The rooms were of great size for our needs, but the bathrooms are very small. I guess you could say you get more living space by doing that, but we felt on top one another when having to do anything related to bath area. ||My overall gripe about this place would be the elevator situation. It just doesn't have enough elevators for the amount of rooms it has. We were there during a VERY busy time and it just wasn't sufficient. After long wait times, elevators would often come completely full and you'd have to wait again...sometimes up to 3-4 times. We were on the 2nd floor so the stairs were an option, but my 5yo and 3yo didn't love it after having to do it multiple tim

Great place to stay. Close to village gondola to get on the slopes early in the morning. Right by the elevator is the Westin Valet to store, skis, and snowboards. Hot tub and pool is nice after long day of skiing/snowboarding. Close to bus transportation to get to other parts of the mountain. There is covered parking for your car too on the big storm days. Would definitely recommend anyone visiting mammoth mountain to stay here.

We love the Westin Monache. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite (3 of us). We really enjoyed having a kitchenette, the warmth from the fireplace, the couch in the living room was super cozy, dining table was nice and the room and living room both felt very spacious. The view from the balcony was nice and the Westin has a perfect location right across the street from the Village & the Village Gondola, as well as their own ski concierge, they deliver your skis right next to the gondola which was a nice amenity. The hotel’s restaurant, whitebark, was perfect for breakfast…& the gym and jacuzzi in the hotel were nice as well. We really enjoyed our stay here.

I stayed 3D/2N last week and left with mixed feelings. While the property has clear pros, the service consistency varies wildly. Logistics & Comfort: The location is unbeatable. The ski valet is a game-changer, and our 7th-floor King Suite was spacious, comfortable, and featured a cozy fireplace. Service Stars: Bea at the front desk is a total pro—efficient, a great problem-solver, and the reason we felt valued as Bonvoy members. The bellhop/transportation team was also friendly. Ambiance: The restaurant bar is lovely, especially the wooden bar area. Lows: Maintenance & Communication: The jacuzzi was out of commission.
