Customer Reviews
Easy check in (your key and instructions in reception atrium), clean and well run. Your company may vary but we had a great bunch over New Year. Warm showers. The only reasonably priced accommodation in Mammoth - it can’t last, the propane company was bought out (price hike) and California electricity prices …
The check in/out was easy for late night arrival. It was perfect for a one night stay. Great location to shopping and Mammoth Ski Resort. The bunk mattress (bedding) and decor of the common space could use a face lift, but overall I was comfortable. I would book again!
I am so grateful Mammoth has a hostel! I love to take solo trips to mammoth and always stay here and meet great people. It's definitely nothing fancy but would recommend for solo travelers looking to meet others. You can also walk to village gondola and bars/restaurants. Beds are rather uncomfortable though so maybe bring extra pillow or padding.
Stayed a night at Moderne Hostel in Mammoth Lakes. Check-in is at 3pm, and early check-in usually isn’t possible, so keep that in mind. The place is clean and well-kept, with a nice kitchen that guests can use, which is a big plus. Rooms are simple—some with bunk beds, others private. We booked our own room, which worked out well and was a good value for the price. Important note: don’t leave food in your car. A bear had ripped into someone’s vehicle for food while we were there, so always store it properly. Overall, a clean, budget-friendly stay with handy kitchen facilities—great for a short stop in Mammoth.
Let’s keep it nice n sweet Been here several times in the past year. Been clean every time, beds toilets etc.. Beds aren’t bad for the price, somewhere to sleep. Location is right at the bottom of the village cross-streets, so you can easily walk your gear up to the village gondola n shoot up to canyon lodge. Worth trying out, especially if it’s just 1 person and you don’t want to spend $400+ on a unit by yourself.
