Vanguard Motel

Stayed here a little while. The stay was decent. But not supposed to have pets yet always a dog running around. Owner will dig through trash to find food for it. Rather illegal. Found a bag of heroin taped to the bottom of the table here. Motel owners try to get extra money from you by saying your rent is due when it's not.

This motel has all the charm and comfort of a landfill. It's absolutely the most disgusting motel that I have ever stayed at. Even the owners a piece of work. The price of the room changed three times. First it was $50, and then $55 and finally $60. Trust me! Go to another motel. You'll be glad that you did.

The owner told my husband one nightly rate on the phone then when we got there he raised the rate. The room was disgusting, cockroaches (live and dead), the freezer and refridgerator didn't work properly, could see straight to the ground in the bath tub, trash cans outside smelled foul and flies galor, beer cans and wine bottles all over the grass. Overall disgusting place and it needs to be shut down or bought out by someone who will take care of it properly. Room 15

Fair, very cheap place to lay your head. Its quiet, the owners are always real curious and on a personal level. Always wave and say hi when they see you like you are just neighbors. It's always been clean every time I go there. I work out of town for months on end and dont need a fancy hotel to come to for my 2 weeks off. This is typically the place for me if they have a vacancy available. The rates do go up during bike week and spring break like all places but they are still the cheapest, no thrills and most curious and most grateful little hotel you'll find in the area.

I stayed there when I 1st got back into Volusia County. They did not know how to properly wash the linens, they used bar soap then draped them over old fencing outside to dry. They had bedbugs in many rooms. They thought putting the mattresses outside on the grass would help, lol. There was bad wiring on the light fixture in my room, I got zapped trying to turn off the light. I used my own sheets, towels, etc. I could not trust using theirs. I left as soon as I was able to. I could go on but won't, I'm sure you can imagine.
