Valley Motel El Cajon-San Diego

The managers are nice and friendly. The place is in need of update but very worth the price. Room was clean and if you on the street side you get a balcony. It can be a little busy at night though. There is a liquor store in the building too.

To be honest I would not recommend this motel to anyone . The service is bad the staff talk about each other behind one another backs . The first night I stayed the room was really nice compared to the rest of the rooms.. they moved me the next day to a low budget room because I had a pet which I definitely let them know the first day . So I guess I was in a room where it was a pet free room which is fine I understand that but they could’ve moved me to a room with the same decor it was like a rundown of the room I was in the furniture was all messed up scratched up definitely low budget. I would never accepted that room from jump I wish I would’ve took some pictures so you guys could’ve seen definitely a big difference between the rooms. I had a great experience when I stayed here. The rooms are surprisingly large which gave me plenty of space to relax. The beds were comfortable (the room I was in had 2 queen sized ones). Having a laundry room available was a great help. The fridge and microwave also added to make my stay pleasant. While there were no pay channels, the cable tv worked great and I was able to watch my netflix using the free wi-fi. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-friendly place to stay.

Toilet did not flush, room reeked of cigarettes(hotels are supposed to be 100% smoke free in California as of January 1st 2024). The front desk clerk stole some of our personal items while we were out of the room and only returned them after I informed her some of our items had gone missing. Drugged up hotel occupants constantly wander the parking lot, no smoke detector, no fan/window for ventilation in bathroom, door appeared damaged from having been previously kicked in, dresser drawer missing, filthy room, burn holes all over bedding, pencil drawings in cabinet, staff refused to switch us into a functioning room or refund our money.
