Tru by Hilton St. Charles St. Louis

Such a BEAUTIFUL hotel! The interior is modern, clean & colorful. The guy at the front desk was very friendly. He gave us a clean room with a nice view. The breakfast was fresh & hot. Only dissatisfaction I have is that the housekeeping lady knocked on the door, then came into my room at 10:30am while I was dead asleep. Disregarding the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door.. she still came in. Unable to hear what she was requesting due to her foreign accent. By the time I got up to throw a shirt on, she had left out. I went out to the hall to approach her to ask how may I help her. She told me it was time for me to checkout. I told her my checkout time was at noon. She was smiling mischievously, as if what she did was suppose to be funny or on purpose. Other than that issue, everything else w

Was there Thursday through Monday, room rates varied each night ( highest on Friday) Room was small but adequate EXCEPT there was NO drawer space to use, no lamps on bedside table. There was no closet to hang items, only a metal curved rod in the corner. There was a small refrigerator under a small table. Lighting was 2 very bright spotlights over the bed that made it hard to lay in bed and read especially if your partner was trying to go to sleep. Only ice machine was on first floor, not a big issue but only FYI. House keeping was to be every 2 days but they skipped us and we had to ask for this on day 4. This was NOT what I expected from a Hilton property. In future I would avoid Tru by Hilton and use a nearby hotel.

Positive: The bed was comfortable. Negative: Yes. There was no coffee maker in the room and that?s a huge problem for me. I don?t want to have to get dressed and go down to the lobby to get coffee. Also, there is no dresser or sofa/chair; only one uncomfortable office-type chair.

Rooms leave a lot to be desired. Beds were hard and uncomfortable. Our tv did not work, the friendly staff came and fixed it. But then the next night it did not work again. Bathroom had a lot of weird caulking in places. It didn't feel dirty but it didn't feel clean either. Bathroom door was hard to shut fully. Just lots of little things that made the stay not so great. I would not stay at this hotel again. For the price, I think there are better options. I will say all of the staff were very friendly.

This hotel severely disappointed, room had a funky smell to it, the bed felt like two pieces of cardboard with tee shirts balled up in between, the bathroom door didn’t shut & most of the towels were a dingy yellow color. All of that is unacceptable at the price point. I’ve spent well over 2 months in hotels for work over the past 6 months & this one is by far the worst.
