Boone's Colonial Inn

I decided to go less traditional hotel and more b and b. The area the hotel is located in is charming. I was in the Napoleon suite which was huge and i guess the connection is Napolon was french. It was uniquely decorated and comfortable. i was greeted by text by the female owner and the next day met her husband. Both very gracious and caring. Likely best for a romantic getaway. Only negatives is this room is on the top floor if you have trouble with steps or a heavy suitcase. There is no breakfast but multiple nearby unique places. I recommend taking a charm break from the ordinary hotels now and then.

The inn is ideally located making walking to most things possible. The Inn is historic and kinda cool to stay in but, there are a few things to consider when renting. Whatever is going on in the park is going to sound like it's in your room with you. Octoberfest and all it's bands were with us from morning to 11pm, Friday thru Sunday. Not very relaxing. There are many floor planks in the room that bend while walking over them. I get that it's historic but scared me every time. So we were doing a maze walk trying to stay off the very bendable boards. The shower was great, but the water faucet on the tub was unfinished and looked bad. The body wash was spearmint, menthal, and eucalyptus and hellfire. That soap lit up our personal bits like fire. Located in the heart of the St. Charles historic district as part of the StoneRow (c.1820), fronting Main Street with the Missouri River in the back just a short distance away. There are only 4 rooms, and we stayed in the French Colonial Room on the 1st floor overlooking Main Street. It was a wonderful room with the quirkiness of history, opening to the large "lobby" that transports you back to the early 1800's. There was a basket full of drinks and snacks that came in handy and the location in the center of the historic district made it easy to walk everywhere. The atmosphere of the Inn and town in the evening are incredible, almost like something out of a Hollywood movie set. Easy private parking in the back of the Inn and the owner was wonderful and she gave us a nice overview answering

If you want to stay in a unique, historical lodging in the center of Old St. Charles - this is it. We stayed in the Thomas Jefferson Suite - which occupies the top floor of the inn. It had a wonderful king size bed, luxury bath, and great sitting room overlooking Main Street. Parking is in the rear of the building. Owners have been key leaders in restoring the entire area. Please note this property does not offer breakfast - which is not problem since there are several good breakfast places nearby.

We absolutely loved staying here. My hubby & I stayed in the Thomas Jefferson room & my friends in the Napoleon room. They were both decorated with beautiful antiques but very comfortable accommodations. Comfy bed & large shower & jetted tub. Highly recommend!
