Travel Inn

This place is absolutely disgusting and the 5 star reviews have to be bots or paid actors. Let me paint the scene: we walked into our room and were hit with a wall of cold air that somehow felt colder than the -12° windchill that was outside. We turn on the lights to find that heat was completely off and upon a further look around the room it showed that the walls were covered in what looks like various bodily fluids. As the room slowly reached above freezing, we were met with the new horror of how foul the carpet from the 1980s smelled. If I had to describe the smell I would have to say it closely resembled a pee covered cigarette reheated in a dirty microwave. Clearly this place was dirt cheap to stay, so we tried brushing it off. Reviews for this hotel were misleading. Did I find the right Travel Inn in Watertown? ||Upon arriving, we entered the front door and we were greeted by a cloud of cigarette smoke. No one was there, it was just hanging in the air. The entire ground floor hallway smelled of smoke. The carpet in the hallway was badly stained. Besides the smoke, there was an odd smell.||Room 108... our room had a funk of a smell to it. My wife was very unpleased. She thought about sleeping in the car. Room showed a lot of wear. Wood finish to headboard and night table showed scuffing and pealing. My wife used disinfectant wipes before she touched anything in room or bathroom.||Bed linen was clean, but pillows were near flat. Comfort of the bed is debatable. ||Bring earplugs. This hotel has been amazing. They have a great breakfast! The staff is also very helpful and kind from the room service to the front desk! Thank you so much

It meets the needs of a basic, clean hotel - nothing fancy. The staff was pleasant. My only complaints are that the room was not cleaned during our stay, so we ran out of toilet paper & clean towels, and there was no "hot" breakfast. To be fair though, I don't think they advertised what kind of breakfast they offered. Also, we had no Kleenexes in the room; just an empty box in the bathroom upon check-in.
