Townsend / Great Smokies KOA Holiday

We had the good fortune of staying here. The staff is out of this world. Would like to mention 2 people who went way above and beyond for us. Tim and Janette you are incredible people and this campground or any other is blessed to have you!!!

Very nice campground, sites a little tight but nice. Super friendly staff and are great to work with. Our original sight we would not fit into with due to over hanging tree limbs, so they walked around and found an empty one we would fit into. My only down fall is the trees need to be trimmed up cause at 40ft long and 13.5 ft tall you will rub. Tight fitting for big rig friendly. However, we know now and will return just cautious of sites. Just needs tree maintenance here, but a 5 star over all.

Super clean campground. 10 out of 10. Staff was great. Bathrooms were super clean. They offer a septic tank emptying service if you have a camp spot with no hookup. Cheap and easy. My kids played on the playground and basketball goal. They had a bounce house one day. The river that runs beside the campground was gorgeous and fun to play in. We will be back.

I long for the days when the Townsend KOA area was rural. There is too much suburbia getting in there. Regardless, campground quiet, peaceful. Cabin was clean, smelled great, and relaxing. The only wait a second was the hot water for the shower was used up in one shower. You have to wait 30 minutes between users or prepare to get shivering.

Awesome nice and tidy campground. They have e-bike rentals at an affordable price. Also they have a nice camp store/gas station. If you like it more quiet, I would chose koa Townsend over the hustle and bustle of pigeon forge or gatlinburg. I loved my stay at the koa!
