TownePlace Suites by Marriott Wichita East

I never expect perfection at hotels but this room failed where it really counted, the pull out bed was completely covered in large very noticeable crumbs and hair(I will add pictures in the picture area), it was very apparent that it had not been cleaned, I reported it to the front desk and they kinda just said sorry but didn't really give a solution, I had to ask for new sheets and change it myself. The shower had very limited hot water, and I use the word hot very lightly because it never really got hot hot, it was barely warm, It actually ran out at one point and became ice cold. Then imagine being in your shower completely wet when you realize that the shampoo, conditioner and body soap are completely empty. All facets of the hotel is less than good. Just moving around I was able to see many areas that needed simple maintenance. The coffee was luke warm, the "breakfast" was unimpressive etc. and not exactly a bargain price. There was a funky odor throughout the building 😞 |I surely would not make this a first choice and only stayed here because it was arranged by my manager. He just got a lump of coal in his stocking 😜

Positive: We appreciate the cleanliness, the size, and the breakfast. Negative: I did not like the scented odor, as though someone had lit a candle before we arrived.

I was greeted warmly at the front desk by Kamari and offered a floor preference. I had a little cough and she asked if she could get me a water or something. So nice to see some compassion. The room was clean and looked recently updated. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in at a hotel. The kitchen is well stocked with all the basics needed for a small meal or snack. The bathroom was very clean and the towels soft and fluffy. The shower had plenty of pressure. The hotel is pet friendly however there is no sign of a pet having been in the room. Breakfast had all of the basics plus a little more than usual. An enjoyable stay at TownePlace and I would stay here again.

This stay was honestly a letdown from the moment I walked in. We normally stay at Element hotels by Marriott but there weren't any on our pass through Wichita. The check-in area looked like a storage room, with boxes piled around everywhere—sloppy, unprofessional, and nothing like what you’d expect from a Marriott property. It immediately felt like no one was actually managing the place. The room wasn’t any better. The layout made zero sense and felt thrown together, not designed for comfort or convenience. And the shower? Completely cold. Not “takes a minute to warm up” cold—just cold. It’s ridiculous to pay for a hotel room and not be able to take a hot shower.
