TownePlace Suites by Marriott Seattle Southcenter

The desk attendant at our check in was awesome - she got us into our room even though it was still morning! We were exhausted from a red-eye with only about 2 hours of sleep so it was very much appreciated. Room was clean and our standards are high so that is saying something but the couch was pretty heavily stained. It could definitely use some upholstery steaming but we didn't complain to the desk staff about it - just threw a blanket over it. Don't expect new rooms here but they're modern enough, very serviceable and comfortable - in line with other Marriott TPS from same era. Plenty of hot water in the shower and plenty of options at the breakfast buffet. The coffee was actually good which you don't usually get at hotels. I recently stayed at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Seattle Southcenter, and overall it was a good experience, but I have to be honest, the customer service felt pretty cold and didn’t make me feel particularly welcome. The check-in process was a bit awkward; I had to approach the front desk myself as no one greeted me when I arrived. It set a somewhat chilly tone for the stay. That said, the room itself was comfortable, clean, and had all the essentials I needed for a pleasant visit. The location is convenient if you’re looking to be close to the Southcenter Mall and other shopping areas, plus it’s relatively easy to get downtown from here. We came through the area on our Washington/Oregon road trip and this hotel was amazing. At check in, I met the nicest hotel workers I've ever encountered, Cristina and Patricia and Navaeh. They had a happy birthday card for me, and it meant a lot that a hotel would do something like that. The room was comfy and the hotel is really cute with the pool and outdoor play area.

Positive: Breakfast Negative: Late check-in... When traveling, one should be able to get your room by 1pm or earlier.

The room looked like it had been recently renovated; however there was a distinct stale cigarette odor. Presumably the motel does not allow smoking anywhere. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was another matter. They asked if we wanted housekeeping services. We arrived on a Thursday and said Saturday would be good. My wife left a generous tip for them when we went out. Upon return, they had given us fresh towels only. The bed was unmade and the trash not emptied. My wife had to go to the front desk and request they return while we were out again.
