TownePlace Suites by Marriott Columbia Southeast/Fort Jackson

Very clean, well kept hotel. Very dog friendly but didn’t smell of dogs or anything in the hotel. Did get a whiff of cigarette smoke a few times (in the lobby/elevatory) but I think that was from folks smoking outside and coming in. ||Our room was as expected (in a good way!) : decent furniture, bed and linens were nice, photos in the room were odd (but who cares). Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful when needing extra blankets, etc. ||Outdoor area was nice (though pool was covered bc it’s December). Fire pit going, basketball court and nice dog walking area / park (fenced area) that our dogs loved! ||Breakfast was good and fed my kiddos and husband well :) ||Would definitely recommend and stay here again if in the area! The staff always has me perfectly set up Open arrivals, the staff is always so sweet to me and the rooms are always immaculate. Great place to stay affordable rates. You should talk to Brandon at the front desk. He is the biggest help thanks Brandon. I’ll see y’all soon.

Visiting Columbia for a concert and I had got a good rate that night at this hotel. The hotel is in a very good location. It seems like a very quiet area and safe. Not too far from downtown Columbia and not far from a variety of good places. The young lady worked the 7-3 shift was very nice and inviting and was even able to check me in early. She was very friendly and gave me some good suggestions on local food places. The front desk staff of two young men who worked 3-11 was much less friendly and inviting. One was on his phone and barely looked up when I came to the desk to ask a question the other seemed bothered that he was even being asked one. It was two completely different front desk experiences in the same day. I had to call down to the front desk numerous times with no answer ( t

Room picture on website didn't exactly match the room i got. The tv thought it was December 28, 2004 which meant the channel guide was useless (front desk said technician was coming next day).  Our toilet was on and off running most of the night. The TV was off to the right side of the bed as opposed to right in front of it like most hotel rooms.  Buffet breakfast had some odd hot alternatives versus the usual scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage  potatoes.  Overall, just a 3 out of 5.

I was scheduled through Agoda to stay one night here with a no cancellation policy. I discovered I chose the wrong date and got sick before the trip. Agoda called the hotel and asked if they would refund the money. And they did! They could have rightfully kept my money based on the contract, but they were kind enough to give a refund. I’ll be staying here again for sure!
