Hilton Garden Inn Columbia/Northeast

This hotel was immaculately clean and beautifully updated. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the check-in process warm and friendly. But what really sets this place apart is its unique character. It has the polished amenities of a high-end business hotel with its remodeled rooms and onsite restaurant and bar, yet it retains an intimate, almost timeless quality.||The small restaurant and bar off the lobby perfectly encapsulates this feeling. I had dinner there last night, and at one point a single server was gracefully managing both the bar packed with seven guests and about six occupied tables. The rooms were good, location is perfect, my only complaint was the "complimentary" breakfast. The employees were actually awesome very helpful, knowledgeable about the area and left us alone when we didn't want to be bothered. My issue is with corporate policies. The breakfast that used to be free and self serve is now hosted and requires a micro transaction. The micro transaction also allows a tip option. I have no problem tipping, I object to the corporate tactic of adding this so they can pay underappreciated employees less because they receive tips. The breakfast is low cost to be sure and certainly worth the cost. The problem is when I used to get it for free any cost raises eyebrows. I would definitely stay here again! I'm more of a vrbo vacationer. But I was there for an event that was only a day and half. Clean, convenient to restaurants and the interstate. The staff was wonderful for all meals. They really did a fabulous job! I didn't get their names. But management I was there Jan 9-10. Please tell them what a great job they did!

Hotel was okay, but Advertised Amenities are incorrect and have been for awhile. No Indoor Pool, No Outdoor Pool, No Spa, No Hot Tub. I stay at Hilton Garden Inns for their pool.
