Tides Oceanview Inn & Cottages

My sister booked this place and I was kinda hesitant because of the reviews. But when we got there it wasn’t bad at all!! It is newly renovated and the place and location is amazing. It’s right off the freeway and easy to find. Lots of parking. Front desk person was so nice. She even called us to check if we were still coming and to let us know that the front desk closes at 8:30. We were running late and didn’t arrive till about 7pm. It was a fast and easy check in. She was even able to upgrade us to a partial room view! The rooms are super nice and spacious. We almost passed right on over this gem of a place because of the lower Google reviews. What a mistake that would have been! The low reviews clearly were from before the remodel. Now, the rooms are bright and decorated in a modern, beachy theme. ||We stayed in room 117 (King Bed + Kitchenette) and the structure is older of course, but all the furniture, fixtures, flooring, tiling, and all the kitchen appliances are new and really cute. The kitchen is mid century modern beachy. The pictures published by the hotel of room #117 are exactly what you get. There is a side patio with your own private view, with nothing but a long, beachy cliff between you and the ocean. (I'm not good with heights, and there is enough land between you and the "edge" to be very comfortable.) ||The view

Great place, nice check in. Lovely rooms. My only moan would be that they could do a little maintenance on the bikes every now & then. I know they are free bikes & I appreciate that though. Overall highly recommended.

Staff members were polite and accommodating. Location is great, although beach access is a slight walk in either direction. Free bike rentals gave us an easy alternative to explore downtowns restaurants and night life. Check it out if you have yet to.
