The Voyager Inn

The Voyager Inn was a great find. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. The location is convenient, right across from the Hotel Captain Cook. Since they are sister properties, we could access the Captain Cook’s gym with our room key. This was a nice bonus even though we didn’t use it. The room was clean and included a kitchenette with a microwave and oven. Just keep in mind that this setup is mainly for heating up food rather than cooking meals. They also provided a Keurig coffee machine. While the machine itself was a bit tricky to use, I really appreciated the generous selection of pods, including various coffee flavors, green tea, and decaf. Great location within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Best part of the room are the views- faced the water and you can open the window-doors. The pros are sizeable rooms- feels like maybe studio efficiencies with a kitchenette and good size bathroom. Similar to other reviews, updates are a work in progress great beds and linens but time for new carpets everywhere and a thorough cleaning of ventilation system (if possible). I didn’t mind but friend has allergies and very noticeable to them. Khalid checked us in and was great (professional and courteous) throughout the stay. Didn’t swing by the gym across the street but it gets rave reviews. Price wise comparable to other mid-range places for summertime in Anchorage. Would stay again.

We stayed two nights at The Voyager Inn and had an overall okay experience – not bad, but not amazing either. The room was spacious and appeared somewhat recently renovated, especially the bathroom. However, there were small issues that gave a slightly careless impression – like loose wallpaper and an unexpected hair in one of the towels. The carpet and some of the furniture felt dated, though everything seemed clean enough, and we slept well. The bed was quite firm – good for some, a bit too hard for others. We believe we were placed in an accessible room, which worked fine for us, although we hadn’t requested it. This hotel has excellent walkability to the shoreline parks, downtown museums and shops, and also shares some amenities with the Captain Cook across the street. Hot breakfast is provided and a coffee bar Our room had a fully stocked kitchenette. Towels were fluffy soft and beds comfy. It was really quiet even though a tour was staying there also. Staff was very helpful when our luggage had to be delivered late at night. One con: smoking is allowed in some rooms so even though we had a non-smoking room, there was an odor of smoke in the hotel.

Recently modernised clean hotel. Good compared to others locally especially considering the price. Staff and manager could not help out more. Though could do with better room tea coffee making facilities. Would stay again
