The Alaska Fishing Lodge

Visited the Northwoods Lodge as part of a group trip this winter. It was a wonderful experience. Very rustic. The food was great and the team running the lodge is quite accommodating. I took my first ride on a Snow Machine along the frozen river. We even got a glimpse of the Northern Lights. All around a great trip!

The lodge was beautiful and clean. The employees were great. The fishing guides were not so great. The kind of fishing we did was new to our entire group. The guides told us how to do it, and then fished for themselves, only helping once in a while...except for the young girls in our group who got a lot of help. The guides ate lunch in front of us but didn't offer us any food until two hours later.

The hospitality of this family was wonderful! They welcome you to their home with open arms. Dinner and breakfast were delicious! That sopapilla breakfast cheesecake was so wonderful!!! Had to go back for seconds. Thoroughly enjoyed the bonfire. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

My second trip to the lodge. As before it was an awesome trip. Shan and Eric are such great hosts. Jeff our guide was amazing and we really enjoyed his conversations and no pressure approach. Looking forward to coming back next year.

The Northwoods lodge is beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and food was plentiful and gourmet! Shan and Eric are perfect hosts and I cannot forget Yenta, the husky dog, who greeted us as we arrived. It’s a real experience being in the middle of nowhere with all of the amenities to be comfortable. I highly recommend Northwoods for a short getaway or a week long excursion!
