The Tides Inn OC

The hotel manager is rude and dishonest. He came to our room and kicked us out after not even one hour at the hotel. He was yelling at us the whole time, refused to give us a refund, and didn’t even allow us to leave our car in the parking lot. His excuse was that we had the music too loud, which was not true at all. If he had simply asked, we would have turned it off since we were actually on our way out to dinner. He even called the police and lied, saying he had been warned several times during two hours, when in reality we were there like one hour. He also refused to show the cameras that would prove the truth.

It was a nice basic hotel with basic amenities. However, the things that stood out for me was the very nice employees and the cleanliness of the room. Before leaving, I realized there was no elevator and requested a 1st floor room, 3rd floor would have been hard on me, they stitched it no problem. Check in, cleaning last and check out, everyone was so friendly. Plus this was literally the cleanest hotel I ever stayed at. It was the end of off season so that may have had something to do with it. But I didn't even see any dust or anything, it was so comfortable!

If I could give fewer stars, I would—this place does not even deserve one. The manager is dishonest and mistreats guests. (It is important to note that a staff member had previously made a comment alluding to this, but we never imagined the situation would escalate the way it did.) While we were getting ready, we had some music playing when the manager knocked on our door aggressively. We attempted to speak with him and simply asked that he address us respectfully; however, he became even more hostile and stated that he would call the police. Minutes later, the police arrived. We explained the situation, but the manager began making false claims, stating that he had repeatedly asked us to lower the music, which was untrue. Positive: This hotel was a very pleasant hotel to stay in. There?s no complaints. The room was so clean. The bed was comfortable. I had so many towels and washcloths lots of soap shampoo,conditioner. Everything was perfect. I stayed in rm 112 and loved it. Negative: Nothing unlikable in my room nothing to complain about.

Not a bad price for the night and considering it was bike week they had a room available. Over all quiet except when the people above us started moving around the you could hear them. Not bad for just 1 night.
