The Barefoot Mailman

I booked a last minute trip to take my grandson to the beach. We stayed at Barefoot Mailman and were pleased with our stay. If you are looking for a basic hotel without amenities or a restaurant, this hotel is perfect. The price was very good, the rooms clean, friendly staff, it had a nice pool, centrally located, very short walk to the beach and pets are allowed for a minimal fee.

We stayed here as a family with 4 adults, 1 baby, and a pet, and it worked out well. The room had 2 beds (1 king and 1 queen) plus a fully equipped kitchen with pots and pans, which was very convenient. There’s also a small balcony overlooking the main street and the pool area. The room was clean but definitely outdated not a problem for us since we were just here to sleep and spend time at the beach. Don’t expect the feel of a big hotel chain; it’s more of a simple, practical stay. The pool is small and right in front of the parking lot, so the view isn’t anything special. The best part is the location just a minute walk to the beach, with a pet area nearby for your furry friends. Also highly recommend Barn 34 for breakfast, only a 2-minute walk away. If you need a place to sleep and change for your time there, this is a good, pet friendly place to go. It smelled like pets, which was to be expected and was not overwhelming. It's location is very nice and convenient to the boardwalk and jolly Roger amusement park. Plenty of places in walking distance. Only downside, no kitchenette,and is a little dated if that is a thing for you. The staff was friendly and courteous. The pool is on the smaller side, and well kept. We've stayed there a few times, and would go back.

First time at a dog friendly motel/1st time took the dog in vacation. Great place! Never a smell, cleaner than clean, friendly desk folk, dog treats, dog walk, dog info, and we couldn't be more pleased. We usually stay at their per free sister motel, Castle in the Sand (1 block away) and you can still use the amenities there as well. We will continue to stay at both! When we booked, we were expecting a hotel, not a motel, but that was what this place is. Anyways, the staff were super friendly and they had tones of coupon books everywhere. The rooms were nice and clean although they needed to mop the floor. It is also a 2 minute walk from the beach and a few blocks away from the boardwalk. It is also right next to Jolly Roger and Speedworld.
