Room 10 - Positives: Convenient to downtown and restaurants and the service was excellent. . The room was cute with it's rustic look and the bed was comfortable. We had an issues with our heater, but they came quickly to resolve it and were very nice. Negatives: The nearby train passed every hour blowing its whistle until 3:30am. Outlets were not convenient. Lighting is dim, unlees you leave the blinds open. The shower tiles had a lot of mold and soap scum. We stood on a towel. The main floor looked like it was mopped with a dirty mop. The heater didn't work properly, so we called maintenance. They said a discount would be received because of the inconvenience, but it was never received.

What an incredible place! We would definitely stay here again. 2 reasons it got a 4 and not 5 was because someone can easily watch though the front door if you dont cover it with a blanket. And you must get your room key at the holland hotel which is close, but still up the street. The lobby on site is open 24 hours with a code so you can still get ice and coffee without going too far :) The room was very clean and cozy! The bed was soooooo comfortable and the water for the tub got very hot and filled the tub quickly. There was a cute court yard to sit in but it was cold during our visit so we didnt get pictures MIGUEL at the Holland Hotel was incredible! This is a great place to get out of the modern hotel rut. It is a true example of an older West Texas motor inn, in a small Texas college town, updated only as necessary. The owners have overlaid modern service and conveniences onto a motor Inn from the past. Do ask about your room location and street noise if that bothers you, as it is right on the Main Street. If you want a nice, safe interesting change of pace, try it. I’ll be back.

Disappointing. I booked the room with the garden tub for my husband and I, and was excited to have a good soak. We're somewhat local and have been wanting to check this place out for a while now. However, the toilet was leaking sewer gas, which you could smell the moment you entered the room, but was sooo much worse in the bathroom. I couldn't stand to be in the bathroom long enough to enjoy the tub, which was the whole reason I'd picked that room. The AC in the room made a terribly loud grinding sound (almost like something was caught in the blades), and was bad enough that we couldn't have it on at all. Our bed frame was not attached to the wall at the head, so when my husband and I sat on the foot of the bed, the mattress and frame tipped up and started sliding down. We had to be wary o

We stayed in a king/queen suite and the room was VERY spacious, cute and comfortable. It was very clean and staff were helpful, even getting us a rollaway bed. The pool was great. Not huge, but the kids loved jumping in the deep end. We were able to park near our room so loading/unloading the car was easy. Definitely would stay here again!
