Highland Inn

Check in was easy. The owners are good as gold. I was handed a key and allowed to " just pay before you leave ". I had to run to the ATM. Then, as it was Thanksgiving, almost every restaurant was closed. He helped me find a place to get a hot meal and a beer. This place will go above and beyond. Because of this why I'm giving 5 🌟. Keep in mind this is a local family owned business not a chain. The place is a bit older and the price reflects it. You could always go up the road, pay twice as much and get a smoother parking lot and an elevator. I personally would rather support local owners. The place is clean, the rooms are larger then I expected and let's face it. We are on vacation. The only reason we get a hotel is to sleep. Ya dont need fancy.

I wrote about this place last year and to put my money where my mouth is, I was just here over Labor Day and am going back next month! If you are not a down-home real person you might want a place with more frills (like a hot tub, etc.). But if you want a clean room with a comfy bed at a reasonable price in a great location, this is for you.||As others have opined, the owner, Sam Acosta, is a really fine, decent man. The room comes with a mini-fridge, microwave, and a flat screen TV with cable. They are spacious, not crowded. And you can park in front of your room for easy access. You will come back, too! That is, unless you are of the "nose in the air" variety. In that case, you don't really belong in Alpine!

Hidden West Texas gem. Our go to location when we visit Alpine!! Clean rooms and outstanding service starting from the reservation phone call directly with the owner to the Texas small town handshake that represents trust.

I feel safe walking at night around here when we stay here. Walking my dog has been comforting, too. Step outside late at night and look up at all the stars. It's amazing. Room is clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this place.

Nothing fancy just nice rooms with Texas decor. Sam at the front office is awesome. Discount if you're affiliated with Sul Ross. Our new place to stay while visiting my daughter.
