The Magnolia Hotel St. Augustine Downtown Historic District

Rooms were gross. Would not stay again. The pictures online are not authentic and we left feeling like we had bed bugs. We reached out to Jay the manager and we were not worth his time. This made my experience in St Augustine disappointing.

When you walk in, the hotel is musty, as if they have had a long term water leak or perhaps previously flooded. When we got into our room, it was also musty and dirty. The bed and carpet were wet. The curling had markings as though it had mold, had a leak or had been smoked in for many years. There were cigarette ashes on the bed and floor. The comforter was ripped on multiple places. The tub was rusted. The ac did not work. There was a syringe in the dresser drawer. The hotel is currently being renovated but that does not fix what I assume to be mold in the walls. I’m sure this hotel only gets customers due to its location. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff was fine. The location was great. Do yourself a solid and stay somewhere else.

It’s not dirty; it’s nasty 🤮. The room is absolutely disgusting. Specially the bathroom is filthy, filthy, filthy. The building and the lobby looks ok good; the room however, smelled like FECAL MATTER (edited) on the carpet. The carpet is old and filthy, if you can’t replace the floors, keep them clean. The bathroom has not been deep cleaned in a long time. If the dirt doesn’t come out, resurface the tub it doesn’t cost much. The shower head can be cleaned or replaced, another, easy, cheap fix. Let the pictures paint a better picture for you and you can judge for yourself. Dear Manager, it’s easy to address the issues. Basically, it’s lack of sanitation. If you like roaches in your room, then you'll love this hotel. They tell you they'll give you your money back but haven't after 9 days. The Magnolia is a run down hotel needing rugs replaced and new management. Warning ⚠️ don't even think about staying in this run down dirty place. Oh by the way, the management placed a feedback by me that was totally not from me so I edited the feedback totally.

Easy and friendly check in process. When we entered our room there was a musty odor and there was rust color all over the tub. We asked to be placed in another room. We were put in the room across the hall and this room had holes in the comforter, the ac barely worked and it was absolutely filthy. There was visible clumps of what looked like dryer vent material. There was also a musty odor to room. We asked to speak to the manager on duty but we were told he had gone home for the night. The manager Jay is the owner and was not reached for us to speak to.
