At Journey's End

The inn is situated about a block or so from all the action of the Christmas Lights! The inn is very nice! The fan in the Charles Lindberg room needs to be adjusted. It has been put up incorrectly and is only on one speed and that is the highest speed. Since you cannot open the windows, the fan is appreciated, but on high is too much. |The extraction fan in the bathroom does not work or at least we could not get it to work.|The sink in the bathroom needs to be looked at, it smells, needs a good cleaning and water drips down the cabinet into the drawer where the hair dryer is stored. |The water pressure in the shower is not existent however the sink is great. ||All in all. Even though the town and this bed and breakfast are older, that should never be an excuse to compromise on cleanliness or quality. From the start, our experience was disappointing. We were surprised to find out that breakfast would not be served at all, which completely defeats the purpose of booking a “bed and breakfast.” We also had issues with the Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi instructions in our email were different from the ones posted inside the house, which caused a lot of confusion. On top of that, we never saw a single person during our stay. No one greeted us, no one checked in to see if we had questions, and no one asked how our stay was going. It felt very unlike other Airbnbs or traditional bed and breakfasts we’ve stayed at in the area. We stayed at Bayfront Westcott House two years ago

We visited this place as part of a bus tour to Monserrat, so we only had lunch and a wine tasting. We did not stay, but the location seems pretty remote. We had a mediocre chicken lunch at the hotel and went over to the winery for the tasting. The winery facility is beautiful, with a 1000 year history, part of it very old and part very modern. The wines we tasted were very disappointing, very acidic and tannic when compared to USA wine.

I need a last-minute place to stay for my family because we have to drive to St. Augustine and help my daughter move out of her college dorm on Saturday, November 15th. I couldn't find much availability due to the busy seasonal festival in the city that weekend. However, on Thursday, November 13, a room in this place became available on Airbnb. I felt very lucky since the property was perfect—right in front of my daughter's new dorm—and the nightly rate was reasonable. I contacted the host to discuss details and booked immediately. On Friday, November 14, the host kept communicating with me, sending more information about the property and check-in instructions.
