The Mackinac House

From the moment we stepped into the Mackinac House I knew I had found a magical place! The decor is cheerful, bright, unique and fun...the staff even more so!! Manager Alissa, Gabby, and everyone we came in contact with were accomodating and attentive to individual needs above and beyond anything I've ever experienced. |Both our room and the lobby were not only expertly decorated but also spotless. I felt pampered by the luxury towels, linens and bath amenities. The mattress and pillows were super comfy. There was a generous amount and wide variety of nice breakfast items and afternoon snacks. The front porch and adirondack chairs on the front lawn provided great space to relax and watch the horses go by. What a jewel among all of the beautiful options for an overnight stay on Mackinac Island. We throughly enjoyed our stay at Mackinac House. The rooms are beautifully appointed in a unique style that is definitely more updated & modern than many of the other options on the Island. However, it still maintains the cozy & quaint ambience that one seeks during a visit to Mackinac Island. Modern amenities in a historic location. The afternoon snack is always stocked with yummy snacks and drinks from 3-5pm and the breakfast available from 8-10am will have something for everyone! Alissa at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful during our stay. Such a great staff who genuinely care that their guests have a perfect experience on the island. My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend. We loved the room and view we had. The breakfast and snack hour were both pretty good. It's only a short walk from the docks as well. It's pricey but what isn't on the island.

The room we had, #33, was very nice. Only has stairs so be prepared if you have mobility issues. The whole place is very nice, very clean, and we'll decorated. All the staff was pleasant and always helpful with our questions about the area. The snack time in the afternoon was nice and the continental breakfast was just right. The location is convenient being just a block off of Main St. with easy walking to many locations. A little pricey but not anymore than the other places to stay on the island. Highly recommend

The absolute PERFECT stay for Mackinac Island! Amazing location for our mother/daughter birthday trip.. just behind the action in a super quiet street. The staff were absolutely amazing in answering questions and helping me with some plans and I will say it was the most comfortable bed! Not a detail was spared including the amazing “continental” breakfast that is so much more! Will definitely be back many a time!
