The Lankford Hotel

Late September in OC on the boardwalk is a great time to go and offers a quieter more laid back family atmosphere. We enjoyed the accessibility of staying at the Lankford but that is about the only thing good we can say about it. We stayed in GR -North apartment which is below boardwalk level. The apartment location was fine during the off season (except the smokers would sit on the tables off the boardwalk and could smell in the apartment) but the the pictures online don't show dinginess and lack of upkeep. There are new owners in the past few years and it appears that they don't care for the property and have made changes to facade (tacky imo) but apparently not improved the units. We were missing items in the unit like a bathtub plug, light bulb in the overhead dining room l

Just stayed for the Oceans Calling fest and it was a great experience! You can’t beat the location! It’s an older building so just know even though they do keep it up nicely, it’s not fancy. It’s probably one of the original places there. The towels and sheets and stuff are clean and soft, the beds were comfortable enough to get a great night sleep. If you have problems with steps, that could be an issue. I would definitely stay there again. The lady at the front desk was so sweet too!

What a great on the beach hotel. Yes, it's 1950's funky...but that's the whole charm of the place! Excellent location right on the boardwalk. Plenty of parking. Nice little coffee shop in the lobby. The manager and staff were very nice and hospitable. The room i had came with a kitchenette and a side balcony. Ok, so it's got a 1960's era stove, and the ceiling is only 7' high, but the room was large and the bed comfy!! And it's very affordable. Yes! I'd stay there again!!

Had an impromptu stop on a Saturday in Ocean City with a group of 11 of us. I didn’t expect to find any decent hotels available last-minute and wasn’t expecting much from some of the old photos of the Lankford rooms. When we arrived, we were able to check in early which was nice so we could get out to the beach. Bryan at the desk was extremely helpful and made sure we were able to park and get rooms or “apartments” close to each other on the same floor. The place isn’t anything super fancy but was clean, cute, and more than functional for the night. The location is perfect. The only negative was we did have some tiny ants in one of the bedrooms
