The Harriss Hotel

We stayed at the Harriss Hotel during the January 2026 winter storm, and what could have been a stressful situation turned into one of the most memorable hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment you walk through the front door, you're transported. The beautifully refurbished 1920s building shines with thoughtful details that honor its original character - the tilework and woodwork are absolutely gorgeous and clearly restored with care and attention. The ambiance is perfect, with carefully curated music and a subtle welcoming scent that sets the tone immediately. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. 10/10 would recommend The Harriss! We originally came just to celebrate my birthday, but we loved the experience so much that we ended up extending our stay for an extra night. What truly sets this place apart is the rich history and local ties found in every detail of the building. You can tell so much care went into preserving its character while providing modern luxury. The customer service was top-notch from the moment we walked in. Our room was spotless, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. It’s rare to find a place that nails both the historical aesthetic and the hospitality so perfectly. How many ways can you say charming? This elegant lodging opportunity in Wilson adds so much to a stay in rural, Eastern NC. We had everything we needed and more. The bed was lush and the decor had a refined, European flavor. We loved the bathroom with a rain shower and the kitchen Keurig. Right downtown with cute coffee shops, live music, and cafes all around. One caution. No elevator , so book a downstairs suite if you have any challenges.

We loved our visit to The Harriss! The building itself is so full of history and the owners kept some of that history in every room. The Harriss feels more like walking into an apartment than a hotel, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Our visit was comfortable and easy, and customer service was just a text away! Way better than a chain. The location was perfect for a night out on the town in a safe, fun, area with lots to see and do within walking distance. So if you want a clean, comfy, accommodating place to come back to after painting the town red, The Harriss will do the trick!

We loved this hotel! Took the Amtrak into Wilson for the weekend and The Harris was perfect for our walking tour of the city. Conveniently located near local attractions and tons of restaurants. The room is clean and comfortable. We stayed in the largest suite to accommodate our whole family and there was plenty of room for all five of us. The bathroom is spacious and clean, and the in-room laundry is convenient, especially with little kids. The hotel guest services was extremely accommodating and available to answer any of our questions. We will be back!
