The Fireside Inn

We stayed with friends in several rooms for the holidays. Positives: location, quietness, and bedding. Improvements: cleanliness (black mold and mouse droppings), bathroom (peeling shower wall coating), onsite contact (no one on site, several contact numbers, and guests mistaking us for the manager). Suggestions: a reference booklet with guidelines and single contact, ideally onsite. It’s a cute place in a great location that needs better maintenance. Re: FSI response. Photos of the property verify no damage was done. Vacuum was borrowed and retuned promptly 2x from housekeepers. 1st time to clean unit upon arrival, 2nd time to maintain.

We had a fantastic stay. Very cute little motel. I was a little apprehension about a check in without a human. But all went well. The room was extremely spacious & cozy. It was pretty much a 1 bedroom apartment. The bed was comfortable and a full kitchen was great. It is just up the street from the center of town. Very Dog Friendly.Great place if your looking.

We stayed at the Fireside Inn in Idyllwild (Room: Redwood) from Sunday, September 7 through Tuesday, September 9, 2025, and had a wonderful experience.||We booked through the Hotels.com app, and communication from the hotel was excellent right from the start. We received a warm welcome message, timely updates, and very clear check-in instructions. Since there’s no on-site staff, they sent everything the night before, including our room passcode and all the details we needed. It felt both professional and friendly.||The property itself was super easy to find and absolutely charming—nestled among the trees with cozy, cabin-like rooms that are connected in a motel-style layout. My girlfriend and I stayed at the Summer Solstice cabin owned by the Fireside Inn and we absolutely loved it. Pictures cannot do it justice. The cabin and location are gorgeous. It is quiet and romantic. We watched the sunset over the pines from the hot tub and woke up to the sun and the sounds of nature from the picture window in the bedroom. We both said we would have loved to spend a week in the cabin instead of just the weekend. It is also close enough to Idyllwild that we were able to enjoy some festivities in town. Highly recommend!

So happy we found this place. We stay in Idyllwild a lot and have stayed all over the place. Some of our old normal places have raised the prices to the point that we started to look elsewhere. To get 2 bedrooms a kitchen and real fireplace for about 140 was a steal in our book. There is a live little seating area outside and it's an easy walk into town. The check in and check out was all done through the phone. We will definitely be back here and this will probably become our new go to.
