South Ridge Yellow Post

First time here and I am very impressed! It was 100 degrees down in Hemet but it's 20 degrees cooler here. Plenty of wonderful and secluded, quiet spots. I drive my 4WD Lexus GX550 here and I was glad I had big tires. I would not attempt with any low profile car tires because you would flat out. Impressed that there is cell coverage here. All in all, a wonderful place to acclimate a little before hiking Devil's Slide to San Jacinto summit tomorrow morning. Picnic tables and lots of big beautiful trees too.

I got to the spot on Monday and am staying till Wednesday. Empty, quiet, and beautiful. A nice breeze and shade. Close to hikes. Rangers came by each day. The town was crowded, and I am sure that on the weekend, this place is full. The road up to the site is challenging in a couple of spots. You will need higher clearance. People need to learn how to poop in the woods, though. There were a couple of spots with toilet paper and shalow holes.

Very pretty and lots of different trails to hike or mountain bike on. People also hike with their puppers up here all the time. There is no toilets or water. It's primitive camping on a forest road.

On top of being beautiful spot to spend time at it is so tranquil. I never sleep as well as I do in the mountains. Road coming up was rough going but doable. Well worth the drive once you arrive at your site.

Great spot to camp! No water, no bathrooms, no comfort, just nature and quiet!
