Marion Mountain Campground

Pretty beautiful spot with spacious campsites. We were at site 20 which I highly recommend because it is far away from other campers but you do sacrifice the sunset view which you can get from the campsites on the other side. Also the campground has access to multiple trails as well. All in all a good place to camp especially if you go on a weekday.

Started here for our hike up to San Jacinto Peak. Absolutely gorgeous trail. One of my favorites of the SoCal Six Pack of Peaks Challenge. Lots of greener you wouldn't expect to see in summer in Southern California. This route was about 14 miles out and back with over 4500 of elevation gain. The view from the top is amazing! A 360 view of the desert, mountains, and ocean, even Catalina on a clear day.

Clean campgrounds, nice hiking spots, and pretty cheap sites. When you book your site make sure you check that campfires are allowed. I went in August of 2020 and they had to close firepits down due to fire season. Just double check before booking. The campsite is great for tent camping and hiking.

What a GORGEOUS view this campground offers. It is pretty cold this time of year so bring your heating system if you're planning to stay overnight. ❄️

Nice little getaway spot! Clean campground with restrooms, awesome views and nearby hiking trails. Close to Idyllwild town and many other attractions within the area.
