The Buzzard's Roost

We have visited twice. We stopped in for our honeymoon in 2020 and again two years ago. We are in the area again this week and if they weren’t fully booked or we would be there again. If you book, expect walking (ducking)into your tipi and thinking, “OMG, this is amazing”. Enjoy the fire pit at night with a cocktail and marvel at the night sky. When dawn breaks, listen to the excited “yip” of coyotes in the distance. You aren’t booking a place to stay. You’re booking an unforgettable experience.

I’ve stayed here twice. The outdoor shower is amazing 🤩 Also, on this last visit I happened to be Ray cold one night and the electric blanket that was provided wasn’t working. There was also supposed to be a space heater in my tipi and it wasn’t there. I texted the after hours number. He responded right away and said he would be there in 15 min. When he got to my tipi he brought a brand new in the box electric blanket and three space heater. Such great service even though it was 10p or 11p.

Very happy with our stay - we were on a motorcycle trip, camping gear in the saddle bags. It's the desert, so we were not expecting 5 star by any means. But as far as i'm concerned, luxury in the desert is what it was. Rolled in, stripped the bikes and set up in the Las Estrellas (?) Tipi. Quite honestly....BLOWN AWAY !!! Loved the Tipi, the shower, the view, the town, a close 10 minute walk...and a 15 minute return stagger (bring your flashlight). I very much hope to return again, and if I do....Buzzards Roost will get a repeat booking

Stayed in El Nuevo Sol tipi for 4 nights. Bed was clean and comfortable. Great shower to rinse the trail dust off. Get up early and watch the sun rise out the front door. Stay up late to watch the moon rise from the same chair. We cooked breakfast on the propane burner every morning before heading out.

This is a cute spot for sure, with amazing views of the mountains during the day and stars at night. There is a hammock to use, a fireplace for cold nights that can double as a grill for cooking. Shared showers and restroom, but kept nice and clean. There is also a common area to sit and relax with a group and enjoy the stars with a telescope.||The only thing I did not like was the flimsy electricity, our space heater did not work at all times, BUT this would not deter me from revisiting. Highly recommend. They do supply you with a book full of "good eats", although we don't think the food scene is all that great.
