The Buena Park Grand Hotel & Suites

I just want to say thank you to Annette. She kindly showed me the room and helped make a reservation for me. Unfortunately, we decided to stay at an Airbnb with a kitchen instead. Annette seems like a truly wonderful person. Even though she must have been busy, she took the time to show me the room and assist with the reservation. She has such a warm and genuine personality, which is rare these days. The hotel itself seems to have a long history and a beautiful structure. It has a lot of charm. I do wish it had been a bit more renovated and redecorated to make it even nicer, but it still has great character. If I had the money, I would buy this hotel and redecorate it myself lol. or work for this hotel as a manger to make this hotel greater. It really is full of charm.

Positive: Location was the only thing going for it. It has potential to be a cute hotel. I loved the Spanish style the courtyard was cute. Negative: Cockroaches were everywhere in our room. Bedsheets has stains on them. No room service or extra towels were brought to us, no extra pillows or blankets in the room for the couch bed.

The hotel is dated, falling apart, rooms were not very clean. Elevator floor was disgusting. ||The lobby: Nice, looks like the pictures. But once you go out the back doors to go to your room, it is downhill from there. ||The Staff: friendly, when they were at the front desk, housekeeping staff was friendly. ||The Room: here we go….gross. First of all the room doors were glass doors with blinds for privacy. They did not close all they way, if you want a dark room, not gonna happen, and even if they did close, You did not feel comfortable. Most of the outlets did not work and some lights had shorts and flickered. The bathroom did not feel clean. No bathmat, making the bathtub slippery…be careful. One bar of soap and tiny 1 oz bottles of body wash and shampoo, no conditioner. The rooms

Room was ok. Clean and beds comfortable enough. Yes property worn down a bit and some cobwebs outside. But the service. Not good. 3rd night of stay got locked out of room. Had to go back to front desk and wait 30min to get someone to show up to desk to help. Same on checking out, 30 min. no one ar desk. Then to top it off got charged over $200 on credit card presented upon check in. Used different card on Priceline for booking. No reason to be charged anything. Manager completely helpless to find charge let alone refund it. Had to fight with credit card and took 2 months to get it credited. What a joke. Supposedly being converted to Springhill Suites by Marriott. Hurry up.

The staff is amazing and very accommodating! Every person on-duty was kind and went above and beyond. The rooms are outdated and so is the property. You can tell they are taking active steps to renovate. The lobby is gorgeous with antique style floors but the lobby furniture is dingy/dirty and needs replacing. I didn’t feel comfortable sitting in them because of it. They should replace the furniture throughout the property. I know its a heavy lift but I think it would be lucrative for them in the long run. The location is perfect and close to great food options, and entertainment!
