The Brookside Motel

Staff is very friendly & helpful. Room was clean. Bed was comfy. AC was cold. Breakfast was delicious, only thing missing was some Tabasco Sauce for the eggs. Location is great, close to everything, but far enough away that noise is not an issue. Price was reasonable, and they do give a military/veteran discount. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends & family.

If I could give less than one star, I would. The drain in our tub/shower did not work. We showered in standing water, and it never drained, even during the night. The chairs and towels were stained, making it seem unsanitary to use them but we had no choice. The owner did not reply to my concerns, so beware. The room rate is lower than other accommodations in Keystone for a reason.

Best place to stay in the area for the price. We were there during Stugis and was tucked away from most of the noise but was in walking distance of everything. Short drive to Rushmore. Clean room, hot shower, friendly service. My only advice is to call to make your reservation as we booked online and they couldn’t find it but we were in luck and they had 1 room left. Definitely happy with our choice.

The staff/owners were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was minimal but it was enough. The room was clean but small. New vinyl wood flooring had been installed. We were given 1 towel and 1 wash cloth for 2 people for 3 days. The staff did provide additional towels upon request. The beds are very old and needs some updating. Enjoyed the firepit at night and talking with other guests. The only reason I rated a 3 is due to the mattress, in major need of upgrade. Would stay again for a quick night stay over but not for a multi-night stay.

This is exactly what you hope for when traveling to a vacation spot. It’s quiet, cute and honestly reminds you of the bungalows in Dirty Dancing. It’s family owned and the staff/family is an absolute joy to work with. We had a quick minor issue with the AC going out and the owner sprung into action to fix the minor issue very quickly. It’s pet friendly so make sure to bring Spot or Rex lol 🐶. The location is ideal! Walking distance to dozens of local restaurants and tourist attractions. If you’re feeling adventurous I have to recommend the helicopter sight seeing tours! It will give you a true once in a life time experience. You’ll see the rolling black hills, the national forest and not to mention Mount Rushmore! Highly recommend especially if you’re tired of the commercial hotels with ba
