The Boathouse Waterfront Hotel

We had drove to Kennebunk to check out this cute little town. We had a great day and we were looking for someplace for dinner. We saw the Boathouse Waterfront Hotel and decided to check it out. They had gorgeous displays of pumpkins, and fall items that really drew us to this place. Rather large inside and it sits on the water. We got seated immediately. Our server was Erin and she took great care of us. My husband had shrimp tacos and he loved them. I had a delicious cheeseburger and fries ( I am allergic to seafood). They offer an extensive menu of seafood. Our food came quickly and very reasonable prices. Had a nice relaxing dinner.

First time in 3 years I can say I was disappointed and not sure if I will return. Room was just ok- needs repair. The coffee bar in the hallway was dirty- not refilled, no water, no hot chocolate- all of which was beautifully set up in past. Restaurant- food good. Wait staff amazing !!!! Host staff poor- rude. A more experienced associate had to step in and help and she was great.

Positive: Size of the room! Negative: The carpet in the hallways was worn and torn. The wood wall in our bathroom was covered in hairspray or some kind of splatter

The location in Kennebunkport was perfect being in the centre of town, overlooking the River Kennebunk. Our Harbor View King Room with a small balcony was on the first floor of this modern hotel and overlooked the river, with the "famous" schooner and the Pilot House restaurant on the other side. The room was compact when compared to others on our trip around New England but the extra large double bed was comfortable and there was a fridge provided, parking on site (no charge) and a lift (unlike several other New England hotels). The hotel provided complimentary continental breakfast and had a bar and restaurant - both of which were very popular - and we had an excellent dinner there one evening. We stayed in the wharf side rooms and I highly do not recommend. Our room was small, we had 2 flights of stairs to carry our luggage, and our bed had an imprint in the middle so my husband and I kept rolling into each other. The hotel doesn’t even offer hand soap to wash your hands. When I asked at the front desk for some they said they only have shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We ended up buying hand soap! The only thing we enjoyed was being downtown. For what you pay to stay here, I’d recommend going elsewhere.
