Howard Johnson Plaza by Wyndham Ocean City Oceanfront

We love staying at this hotel for New Year's because we can watch the fireworks from the balcony. We've stayed during the summer months too. It's a great location, beautiful oceanfront view, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I also like that they provide pump containers of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash!

Positive: The oceanfront location was great! We really enjoyed our balcony with a partial ocen view. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The pizza at the restuarant located in the hotel was FABULOUS! Best pizza I ever had! Negative: The room was kind of small. The door of our room did not close properly- you could see light from the hall way down the side of the door. This situation did not help to keep out the noise from the elevator and hallway. It was a high-traffic area.

Enjoyed three nights in a sideview room. The bonus of the sideview is both the ocean and bay are visible. My room had two full beds; a king room with sofa bed like I stayed in last year was not available at this time. This room seemed quite a bit smaller, but was sufficient for my needs. One bed was much closer to the slider door (and view!) than the king room last year, so I slept in that one and enjoyed looking at and listening to the ocean. I was unable to connect to wifi, and was disappointed it was not resolved during my stay despite the staff sincerely trying to help. This is an affordable and pleasant stay in off season- I made use of the hot tub several times, too. I will consider staying again.

For the price and location, it's wonderful, clean, renovated rooms, friendly staff, right on the boardwalk, near 12th street. Free parking, pet friendly. Indoor pool and hot tub. Staff were quick to respond to requests for extra towels. blankets, coffee and checked with us during our stay to see if there was anything else we needed. We had an oceanview and balcony. Microwave, fridge, coffeemaker in room. Less than 1 mile from Trimpers and the busier part of OC. Subway, lemonade shop, Brass Balls pub and BadAss Cafe next door, small bar and restaurant in lobby. Short drive or walk to many restaurants, & conveniences- Bad Monkey, Happy Jack's, Food Lion, CVS, 7-11 and Rofo within 5-10 min drive. This was our first stay at a Howard Johnson! Everything far exceeded our expectations! The premises were neat and clean. The rooms were adequate for our weekend stay. I loved the bright decor of the rooms. It was also super nice to have a hotel room with NO carpet!! My son very much enjoyed the balcony with the ocean view!! We would definitely recommend and would also stay here again!
