The Appenzell Inn

Conveniently located. Exquisitely clean. The in-room fireplace and jetted tub (including complementary bath salts) was heavenly. Breakfast was comprehensive with many choices including cereal, hard boiled eggs, pre-made waffles, yogurt, etc. The evening make-your-own s'mores were quite enjoyable and unique. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. What didn't I like about the property? The stairs leading to the reception and breakfast area were irregular and the ground uneven. I can easily imagine someone losing their footing and getting injured.

If you’re looking for a place in Estes park, look no further, this is your place.||We stayed 3 nights at The Appenzel Inn. It had a lovely chateau/lodge like feel. We were greeted in the office by friendly folks and given the bad news that we’d have to haul our luggage up a flight of stairs because the elevator had to be fixed the next day. (This was the reason I had requested a room on the first floor, a cheap room, old people don’t want to do that). They made it apparent that we’d been given a complementary upgrade so we decided to go with it and complain about it later. |We were given the ‘Suite Heart’ room a suite, with lovely little breakfast nook, kitchen with large frig, dishes, microwave, dishwasher heart shaped jet tub, fireplace. We are locals and wanted a getaway with a hot tub near RMNP. Rates were quite reasonable since it is the off season. We got the Standard King aka the Petite King with the jetted in room tub. It was perfect for us with a king bed, great pillows, the instant on gas fireplace and of course the 2 person in roon spa tub we wanted for some romance as a senior couple. Some reviews criticize the basement rooms because they dont offer a view of the mountains. We are spoiled living an hour away and seeing the mountains and RMNP anytime we want. We wanted an excuse to checkout the Stanley Hotel and the town of Estes Park and have a relaxing romantic soak while we spend the night. We will be back. Positive: very quaint room, small but cozy Negative: the entrance driveway was very small, I'm glad it was not snow packed, that would have been very difficult. If it was booked to capacity it would have been hard to find a place to park.

Thanks you so much - we had a wonderful stay! Your staff even allowed us very early and the room was clean and with lots of extra blankets and all other things. The view from the deck is amazing. Hot tub and pool was clean and wonderful.
