The Ames House

SO CHARMING! Some girlfriends and I stayed at the Ames house and it was absolutely fabulous! I cannot recommend this place enough! The house is SO GORGEOUS and the apps & taps were AMAZING!! Our host, Steve, was incredibly accommodating and gracious and made us a lovely spread of food and beverages to enjoy! The Ames House is located right in the heart of Ellensburg, so walking downtown to see live music and enjoy a nice dinner was convenient. The room I slept in was so cozy, complete with an on-suite restroom and TV so I never had to leave the room once I was ready to turn in. I cannot recommend this beautiful bed & breakfast enough!!!

I was lucky enough to stay at the Ames house this winter. The owners thought of everything - elevating charm and function. Everywhere I looked I saw beauty, history, personality and intentionality — and that left me with the feeling, “we had you in mind,” and “we’re glad you’re here.” It’s a wonderful blend of old and new comforts. The host, Steve, took wonderful care of us. He is a wealth of information, honors local artisans, values community, and spoiled us with his delicious homemade goodies. It’s clear he loves what he does. My time there was special and one of a kind. If you are looking for something more - more of an experience - you will enjoy and appreciate The Ames House!

The Ames House is a beautiful, historic house walking distance to everything fun in Ellensburg with a very gracious host. Steve made our reservations with various arrivals so easy. He planned happy hours and breakfasts to accommodate our crazy schedule. Happy hour had local beers and wines as well as the most delicious charcuteries with local items and homemade crackers and dips. Breakfast was equally inviting with warm muffins and fresh coffee. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The Ames House will be our go-to in Ellensburg.

I had such a great stay at The Ames House. The home is beautifully restored and a perfect blend of new amenities while preserving the historic charm. You can tell a lot of care went into every detail; everything felt intentional and well thought out. Steve was a great host—thoughtful with every detail, and provided great drinks and snacks upon our arrival. The location couldn't be better, just a short walk to the great shops and restaurants in downtown Ellensburg. I would highly recommend staying here as a fun way to experience the town!

It’s walking distance to everywhere you want to go downtown, from great restaurants and shops to the local art galleries. The beds were super comfortable, and the whole place has such relaxed, welcoming vibes. Everything was spotless and beautifully decorated too. Highly recommend The Ames House to anyone looking for a cozy, stylish, and convenient place to stay in Central Washington. We’ll definitely be back!
