Icon Inn

I recently had a tire blow on a Sunday, and got stuck in Ellensburg. I had my disabled mom and a new kitten with me, and none of the nearby hotels would take a pet in. The owner (apologies, I forget her name) was so nice and was willing to help me however she could. Even if I stayed in a different hotel, she was willing to let me park my car in the Icon Inn lot with the cameras on it. I ended up staying here because she accepts pets, and I’m glad we did! This Inn is so nice and comforting. I was lucky to be able to chat in person with her, but I also like the self serving options for check in as well. The room was spacious and comfortable, and I was able to relax in a very stressful situation. If I’m ever staying overnight, this is where I’m gonna go!

An automated hotel which requests you to download an app to check-in. I had not paid attention to the text requesting me to download the app so I wasn't prepared, and surprised by a sci-fi type of room to scan and check-in before being able to enter the actual hotel. It didn't feel very welcoming because of the surprise, and not having a person to greet us. But the kiosk had an option to choose "Concierge" and then the owner(?) came directly and was super nice and welcoming and got us set up quickly. The hotel is very safe, rooms have extra space to stretch out and the beds were very comfortable. Immaculately clean. We have stayed at a couple of different places in Ellensburg in the past, always run-of-the-mill roadside hotels, but we now will always stay at the Icon Inn! This is a small hotel, without a traditional front desk set up. There is a QR code check in process. That being said, the manager lives on-site and was ready to assist when we didn't have the QR code. The interior is beautiful, and surprising, given the humble exterior. We had our 12 yr old with us and booked a family room with a loft. Our son was thrilled! He was so excited to have his own loft space. The decor was beautiful and comfortable. This is a new hotel that has a bit of a different concept. There is no front desk and you use a kiosk to check yourself in and out. So you don't really get much of a welcoming feel when you arrive. The rooms are overall pretty nice and modern with refrigerators and freezers, walk-in showers, and quiet air conditioning. The beds are a little too firm which did not make them too comfortable, but at least the pillows were nice to help. I could not find the switches for the bedside lamps so I had to unplug them from the wall. And the TV does not have any cable/dish so there are no channels and you have to log in yourself to use any of the apps, so the TV is pretty much useless. Improve the staffing, get softer mattresses, and get cable for the TVs and this hotel would be excellent. Otherwise,

I absolutely loved staying here. My room was perfect I was able to make my own food using there full loaded kitchen. It truly was a hotel that felt like an apartment. The manager was always on hand to make sure everything we needed was met. I WILL definitely be staying here again in the future.
