The Alpine Lodge

This is a fabulous place for skiers. The rooms are large and very clean. The kitchenette is fully stocked and there were plenty of towels. Each room has a Keurig and full sized fridge with freezer. It is five minutes to Gore. There is a great restaurant in front of the lodge, and a grocery store, liquor store, and shops within walking distance. There’s no tv in the second bedroom, but there are large tvs in the master and living area. The people here are fabulous. When we come again, we will choose here without hesitation.

Stayed here on a ski trip. Very friendly manager at the front. Comfy beds and soft towels. Some soaps in the shower were empty but there was bar soap. The main lobby had a microwave and general kitchen things to use. Overall, a decent place to stay.

Good location to ski, hunt, and enjoy the outdoors. Self checkout is convenient. You will have to replenish your room amenities from the main lobby since there was no one on duty for our entire stay to get new towels, coffee pods, etc.. The walls are thin, so we could hear the TV on next door all night and the bathroom ventilation fan is tied to the light when you turn it on. So, if you need to pull out Mr.Winky late at night, you will probably wake up every light sleeper in your party.

I'm giving the Alpine Lodge a mixed review. To encapsulate it, I would call it Form over function, or Aesthetics over comfort. On the positive side of the ledger, the location is great, right on Main St. in charming North Creek NY. The place is pleasing to the eye, tastefully decorated in an Alpine/ski theme. The staff was invisible, there was no one on site. My first interaction with staff on the phone was negative: the guy was rude, and cut me off, mid-sentence. However, the room was very uncomfortable. There were no flat surfaces (like a small table) to put things on, except two tiny end tables and a small dresser. There was also no place to sit, except for an uncomfortable wood rocking chair.
