Texarkana Inn

This building was just taken over as a Choice Hotel. It is in terrible condition BUT... that said. The new owners/managers are working on it. The room & bathroom had been redone with new paint, floor, etc. The room smelled clean & was comfortable, but the furniture was shabby. The curtains had not been replaced but was told they are coming along with NEW furniture. We were on the 1st floor so the elevator was not an issue. I would stay here again given the work being done. The staff was friendly & wanted to be sure we were happy. Give it more time to be cleaned & remodeled...

Positive: Not to much noise Negative: Well, as I opened the blinds to see the view, out side the window was a cardboard box about 40"x60 broke down, in the tree below. Understandable with the construction on going.

The hotel is undergoing renovations, my room was brand new, I didn't experience all the problems other guests are talking about. The room was new and very quiet, I slept really well. The hallway looks horrible though, it's a mess of boxes I assume for renovations. The Quality Inn sign is haphazardly covered by some flimsy Texarkana Inn sign it doesn't encourage me to stay there. The hotel must improve its Google and Priceline rating to remain competitive, it almost scared me away but Room 219 at least was good to excellent in my opinion. The bad part is the view is ugly, the parking lot needs to be repaved and cleaned up, there's an abandoned trailer in the back, it just looks bad, please get your act together as soon as possible.

This place has an identity problem. It has signs on the ground as being Quality Inn, the sign on top says Texarcana Inn, and their wi-fi says Super 8 (no Super 8 hotel nearby). The lobby is atrocious at best. You walk into a construction zone. For some reason they're staying open. Although the room was "new" it took a few minutes to get used to the fumes. When I opened the room door had to push rather hard to close it (door dragging on the floor). Went to use the bathroom and the door fell apart. The faucet handle came off when taking a shower. Tried to adjust the shower had away from the wall and water came bursting out from the top, could not adjust (probably missing a connecting part). I hate giving bad reviews, however I feel the need to warn unsuspecting travelers away from this place. Like the other reviews have mentioned, the elevator seems permanently out of order. There were cigarette burns and paint on the curtains and sheets. More importantly there were ashes and some sort of dried urine on the floor. The hallway smelled like death. The pool and breakfast aren't worth mentioning because the room and path to get there were so disgusting. There are no refunds so we cut our losses and got another place to stay last minute. Also the signs all say Quality Inn.
