Taylor Motel

This little gem in my hometown of Van Horn is absolutely amazing!! We stayed in room 1 and it was the best!! My grand children loved it and want to come back just so we can stay there. The cleanest motel / hotel we have ever stayed in. They put the corp hotels to shame. The hospitality of the staff is absolutely great. Highly recommended we will be staying there when we visit!!! The decor was like a 4 star hotel, it was clean, bed was comfortable. I felt safe. The owner was sweet and responsive. I-10 was built in the 1970's diverting traffic from the "0ld 10" which saw a decline. The outside might not look like much but I felt they have worked hard to keep it nice. We stayed in a room on the west, heard one train, but it was not very loud. Good value for what you get.

Fantastic experience. We had stayed in the local chain hotel on our way to Arizona and here on our way back. This is 10x better! Updated, modern rooms with incredibly comfortable bed. The national chains' beds are rocks. I won't stay anywhere else!

This was such a wonderful experience for my kids and I on our cross country drive. The rooms were cleaner than any of the hotels we've stayed at, quiet, cozy, and safe. Jose was so kind and soft spoken. 10/10 would stay again, highly recommend this gem!

I have stayed at the Taylor Motel at least twice a year for over 10 years and it is always the same: outstanding. The rooms are always clean, the beds comfortable, the shower has plenty of hot water and clean thick towels, the TV works, the AC or heater keeps the room perfect. Never any noise from a neighboring room, probably because there is a carport separating each room. The trains are not that loud.||The Taylor is almost certainly the oldest operating motel in the United States. The owner showed me an old photo of the Taylor with the year "1915" scratched into the negative, as was the practice back then.
