The Quality Inn next door runs these villas. We love the QI and have frequented a handful of times. When you stay at their Villas, you have access to the Inn, which is a great perk. But this year we chose to stay at a Villa, being dog friendly, which is a plus! We were upstairs, Villa 3. These pictures on Google maps and on the Surf Villa website are dated…. When the Villas were new. They are def misleading! The surf villas are now run down and in need of much landscaping. There were pave stones missing and uneven pavement, weeds overgrown, and NO backyard picnic table grass area behind as one photo indicates. There was a parking lot lamp fallen directly behind the place with glass broken all around. It was not a nice/safe lot for having a dog, and there was barely any grass for the dog. B

By far the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. The manager is completely belligerent and unprofessional. Also in a bad area. We first got there and there was NO parking. We went inside to check in and he barely explained where an ATM was because my card was declining. He sent me down to the other side of ocean city just to not be able to find the ATM he was talking about. We had to pay an extra $15 for overflow parking that doesn’t even last your entire stay. You need to keep paying each day you stay. We got in the room and the floor was filthy and the bed as well as the pillows were hard as a rock and neither myself or my boyfriend could fall asleep. AC did not work and there is little to no privacy in the room. I paid over $220 for one night at this place and will never come back.

First off, we used to frequent this place yearly when we would stay in OCMD and we are fully aware that it’s a no-frills, basic room and board place. That’s why we stayed there…a place to sleep and shower.||We went down for the weekend and upon arrival, you could see there was some serious neglect in the recent past (ac units are rusted out, stairs and porch are starting to fall apart, etc). Our bathroom smelled of mildew and it appeared that they painted over it on the ceiling as the marks were coming through the paint. The halls wreaked of pot from other rooms. On top of that they charge $15 to park. In their lot. Huh?||Again, we used to like coming here because despite it being basic, it was always clean and cared for. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore and I don’t know if

Management is quite friendly and helpful. Front porch is great for unwinding after a day of sightseeing or being in the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk. Could see some fireworks from the porch as well. Only 1 block to the boardwalk. Very clean. Coded entry doors for easy room access. Window ac worked well and made the room quite cold. No frills here but a good price for the area. Cold ac and clean rooms. The bed was very hard and pillows a little lumpy but for the price could deal with that. Beds are mattresses on frames no box springs. Parking is sparse but 2 blocks down you can park in another hotel lot with a hang tag from this location. Even main floor you must climb stairs so if mobility is an issue choose a different place.

Perfect so far as location. One block off the boardwalk and priced reasonably for the season, on the third row. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. Housekeeping is good. It's safe to leave things in your room. Cooled by window unit. Water pressure is fair (not their fault). They only provide soap. They do not even sell shampoo, toothbrushes, razors, or toothpaste at the front desk. The coke machine vends Soda that feels like it was sitting outside the Alamo in July. Overall, as a place to sleep, it is better than passable.
