Super 8 Richmond

Can I give this zero stars? This is hands down the worst experience I've ever had in any hotel/motel. I wish I had read the reviews ahead of time but I've stayed in many Super 8's before and never had an issue. The rooms smelled like smoke even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. The beds were not comfortable, very cheap mattresses. The towels had HOLES in them! There were bugs in the bedroom. And the hot water took 15 minutes to get from the other end of the building down to our room (we were for-warned of this by the desk clerk). The entire building is in serious need of upgrade and upkeep. The grass wasn't even mowed. Painting, carpeting, doors, locks, etc. etc. etc. I honestly don't know how the state or county inspectors allow this place to stay open. I've never felt com

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Booked room here last year based on the pictures on the super8 website. These pictures must have been from when it was remodeled in the 80s. I pulled in and the place was deserted, I actually thought it was closed! Walked into the room and it reeked of mold and must! The bed was definitely old and uncomfortable. There was no way I would've been able to stay 3 days here. And the worst part of the entire stay: bed bugs! Yes, I started getting very itchy all along my side a couple of days later, and about a week after, I had about 30-40 small bug bites all along the side I sleep on, legs, arms, etc. Never again! They need to bulldoze this place to the ground. The only reason for the 1 star is the lady at the front counter was sweet and helpful. Oth

and the same problem with all rooms never fixed. The tubs do not drain you have to shower with a tub full of water over your ankles. Room smelled musty and moldy the past 2 times we were there and they said the rooms had flooded. Allergies flared because of this. Anyways we found a nicer place to stay and a better price. Look elsewhere. I know several in our group went elsewhere this year. They also raised room rates by $30 for the weekend we attend because of the event and all the people it brings to Richmond. I hope our event changes towns soon. This is price gouging.

The reviews are completely true. We were traveling cross country and just decided to stop here, bad idea. We walked in room smelled of mold and was musty. The wall paper was coming of walls, the door frame in bathroom was rusted through, lamp wires were frayed to the open wire, and water spots everywhere. The TV looks from the early 90s and fuzzy. No smoke alarm and AC was useless. Not sure how businesses like this stayed open. The person at the desk didn't even tell us price or give us a receipt, just took the card. Drive farther and stay somewhere else, it will be worth the extra money.

Do not stay here! The bed is so dirty, the room smells terrible! I couldn't sleep for a good part of the night because of the itchy feeling from the bed sheet. I'm afraid there must be something like bed bug, but I don't want to say so since I didn't see one (or dare to find out), it's just the feeling on my skin. And no, I didn't read any review before my stay so it can not be one of those psychological paranoia symptoms. There is no refrigerator or microwave. Not clean. I smelled regret as I stepped into the room. The rug would disgust and challenge any most experienced and proudest bare-foot walkers. Give yourself a favor, don't stay here! I would give it zero star if I could.
