Super 8 by Wyndham Gainesville TX

Owners/staff were very friendly. That was the only thing nice about this hotel. It looks nothing like the photos online. It is very run down. There was an overwhelming garlic smell throughout the whole hotel. The room was tolerable but not clean enough for us to feel comfortable. The sheets were scratchy and the bed was lumpy. We refused to shower there. We only stayed there to sleep for a few hours. I couldn't stay there one minute longer so we left way before dawn! It was definitely not worth the price, in my opinion. It has potential to be a great place since so many people utilize it's location because it's so close to Winstar Casino. Staff: Very nice!|Check-in: Easy and convenient! |Checkout: Quick!|Breakfast: Decent and does the job, especially for being complimentary but juice machine wasn’t working and I had to ask for more spoons, milk and yogurt bc they were out. (It wasn’t close to breakfast ending either.)|Cleanliness: 4 out of 10. This is an easy fix though. If housekeeping would just wipe stuff down it would be great but there was a hair in my shower and we hadn’t even used it. Marks on the bathroom door that come off with a wipe down. At breakfast, it needed a major sweeping and upkeep with the breakfast items. The person at the counter, even though they were very sweet, could have been doing that instead of sitting by the counter. Unfortunately it reflected laziness and lack of pride in the establishment. |O

Positive: The location. Negative: We were disappointed in the room as it was noisy, room 104. When we stayed in December in room 115 we found it very quiet and comfortable. Also we feel the shower area in room 104 to be dangerous as it was very slippery.

Do Not stay in this place! Hotel looks nothing like the picture. Everything was stained from the curtains, bedspread, chair, and towels. The hair dryer was so disgusting, the kleenex cover was rusty, hair on toilet and tub. There were no elevators, could not put both of my rooms on credit card together. Had to use card twice. Was afraid to use breakfast bar after seeing how unclean room was. Only stayed because we had kids with us and we all needed sleep. Couldn't leave fast enough in morning. Never again!!

Rooms were clean, but a bit dated. The way it's built all of the room entrances are on the inside of the building. This means it's difficult to park where you can see your vehicle out the window of your room and the middle room numbers are a long walk from outside. The receipt for my room said checkout time was 12am, which I misread to mean noon, so partly my error partly thiers. However, the man who came to knock on my door at 11 am didn't speak any English. Then at the desk I showed them the receipt, which is when I realized it was saying midnight, but he barely spoke English as well, so the issue likely will be ignored. They have no rooms available that allow smoking, fyi.
