Sunset Motel

Better than living on the streets. Safe place. Great. Had a roof over my head and a bed to lay in. Wi-Fi access shower and water works. No complaints.

What you would expect for a thirty five dollar a night motel stay. Not bad at all considering it's located in the red light district on S Broadway in Wichita. Some drug dealing going on, and of course, prostitution, but, if you don't bother them, they usually don't bother you. The WPD will clear them out eventually, just to have them return at the latter part of the year.

Place is a little sketchy. But it did have a fridge and microwave. Old box tv. No soap or shampoo provided. Shower did have good water pressure and was hot. Room was spacious enough for or need. Didn't see any bugs or visible dirt. Acceptable.

I was recently evicted & had no choice but to go to a motel while my housing situation was in transition. I called all the motels on Broadway that were south of Kellogg. Of the ones who answered their phone, Sunset was the most affordable. It also peaked my interest in that it's the closest motel near the police substation at Pawnee & Broadway. I dreaded having to move into the motel, I feared it would be absolutely horrible. I'm so glad I was wrong. The couple that runs the place is super sweet. I was surprised to find a microwave & mini fridge in the room. Yeah, it's a bit run down, but you get what you pay for. Nothing of mine ever got stolen. (I lived at the motel for over a month, went to work 5 days a week, everything was where I left it every time I came home). There was only 1

Better than a lot of motels I've seen and stayed in off Broadway... wasn't afraid to get out of my vehicle. That's a huge plus. The other guests staying seemed friendly enough. I didn't care much for the lack of housekeeping and the tapped up curtains. But, overall, it wasn't too bad a place.
