Sunbird Annex Resort

Check in was quick, easy & pleasant. Unfortunately, we had traveled for a funeral not a vacation. The room was clean, quiet & comfortable with open clothes rod, a microwave, refrigerator & good size TV. Only caveat was no chair (If I had complained, I'm certain one would have been provided) & the hot water took a bit of running to warm up. My initial impression was that the mattress may be too soft but I slept soundly without any discomfort. I have back issues, so I was pleasantly surprised. So much so that I called them after arriving back home to inquire about the bed model. The young lady at the desk laughed, was polite & asked me to hold for a minute while she checked. We visited for a short holiday break. It was clean, comfortable bed, quiet and good breakfast. A great location near all that we needed. Lots of local restaurants. Pleasant lady helped at breakfast. Nice pool. It’s not really a “resort” but a very nice motel. We’d stay again.

Absolutely Wonderful Stay! We had such a fantastic experience at this hotel! The staff were absolutely amazing — they truly went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. From check-in to check-out, every interaction was friendly and professional. The hotel itself was spotless, with a clean and welcoming atmosphere throughout. The complimentary breakfast was a huge hit with our family — fresh, well-stocked, and something for everyone. The pool area was a favorite — very clean with all new furniture, which made relaxing there even better. Our kids especially loved the basketball court and the cozy fire pit in the evenings — such a great touch for families! We’ll definitely be coming back. My husband and I checked in a few days ago and left almost immediately. Checking in was easy, but the service was impolite. We went into our room and it was dirty and used. We had to go back to the office to request another room, and once again the service was impolite. The new room, despite having noxious minty cleaning fumes, felt dirty. Especially the bathroom, sink area, and mattress. After our experience with the first room the cleanliness of the second felt dubious at best. We were just looking for a cheap place to stay the night and explore the area before our baby comes, but the place felt unsafe and sketchy. Though it was late and the drive home was long, we decided to head home, lose the money on the stay, and not risk it.

2.5 stars. We had some issues with check-in, the office for check in is confusing to find at first glance. The vending machines were either out of stock or not working, the pool had dirty towels everywhere, including literally IN the pool (and no clean ones available); it was dingy and full of unsupervised kids who took up the entire pool. There was no parking on the second night of our stay. It’s kid friendly, but if you want a quiet stay or want to relax, look elsewhere. More of a free-for-all. On the bright side, it’s easy to find, close to stores where you can stock up on stuff for the beach at a cheap price (like CVS and Dollar Tree) and the rooms themselves are really clean with good storage.
