Sun 'n Snow Motel

Much more than expected for the money we spent. My family and I have stayed here twice this summer and both times it’s been pleasantly surprising. Short stays both times but the rooms are very clean the owners are friendly, approachable and accommodating. The view from the property is great and it’s a very short walk to the beach/park. My family has a ton of fun here and I already can’t wait to come back.

Positive: Availability. Quite. No disturbances. Negative: Ice in parking lot. I fell walking to my car. They need to clear the lot.

The only reason I rated 2 rather than 1 was because it seemed clean, not overly dirty. However everything is so outdated and not functioning properly. Our room was HOT, the thermostat said 83 and we couldn't figure out any way to turn the heat down or off, or even to turn the air on. We couldn't open one of the windows, the other window could be opened but we couldn't leave it open all night. Only 1 light worked in the room. The door and windows were very old and a gentle push would probably open them even if they were secure. Some people must be longer term residents here because I saw cats in the windows of some of the other rooms. Bath towels seemed clean but washcloths were dingy. Curtains were falling off of the rod, so you couldn't close them 100%. No one at the front desk w

The area is beautiful and the location is excellent. We went during the week and the motel was very quiet. The motel and rooms are outdated but they're clean. For the money you get a good value. The place is right on the water on Lake Mitchell and it has a good restaurant 40 ft from your door. The man working the front desk was very nice and helpful. I ran over a screw somewhere on the way to Cadillac and Lloyd at the front desk gave me his own tire repair kit and I was able to fix it quickly. Thank you Lloyd!
