Sugar Beach Resort

We stayed in the honeymoon cabin, it seemed a bit outdated, shower was not great, and we had to fold the pillows to sleep on them. I think a hotel room could have given us a similar if not better experience. When bringing this up to the office they did not seem very worried about our experience. The best part about our stay was the view!

Stayed in this one-bedroom cozy cabin for three nights and didn't want to leave. Nice deck overlooking the large rocky shore and the lake. With the low density of cabins around you will have more quiet and privacy than at some of the other options on the lake. Convenient gas fireplace. Well equipped kitchen. I would definitely return. ||Tip: local water here (at least in this cabin) has a mineral taste with a slight salty flavor. Owner has a reverse osmosis filter but it didn't do the job for me. Recommend bringing your own drinking water.

A great, affordable place to stay up north in Minnesota! Really lovely place to stay, we stayed in cabin no.4 ; - Epic views - Great, roomy space for at least two families - Close to all state parks - Firepit on the water - BBQ Just a great place to enjoy with family or friends 🧡

Awesome experience up north, the cabin was amazing, could use some touch up work and new pots pans knives etc though. Would've been nice to have the decks shoveled off, which we had to do for a place to smoke outside. There are a Few popped tile , and two of the doors are warped so they wouldn't latch closed. Nothing major, as I said, touch up stuff. Price was a little steep, but Other than that nothing else negative to say. On to the positives! Spacious as a place can be, they have an entry room in the cabin we stayed in with a huge rack system for bibs coats and boots. also there is a drain in the floor ,very convenient. The floors are heated , the layout is spacious without loosing that cozy feel. Gas Fire place was cool. Had a heated 4 season porch outside also, but we didn't want to

My friend Glenda turned me on to this lovely resort a year or so ago. I am SO thankful she did! I've stayed in the Shangri-La, the Lakeside and the Honeymoon cabins. Each stay was superlative! And Kim and her husband are wonderful hosts to work with. They keep the cabins squeaky clean, nicely maintained and well stocked. A jewel on the Big Lake!
