Bluefin Bay on Lake Superior

This place crushes "cozy". Absolutely nailed it. We're here in the middle of winter, it's -1 outside, we have a fire going and we're drinking coffee staring at the half frozen lake. The bathtub is the best, deepest tub, I've ever been in... AND the water stayed hot the whole time it was filling up. The towels are so soft. The blankets are so soft. The firewood is just outside the door ready for us. This is peak winter relaxing. The heaven of hibernation. Absolutely love it here for a tucked in winter weekend.

It's really difficult to run a profitable resort in Minnesota for decades. A couple years ago, Dennis sold the place to a big resort operator in Minnesota and I think we all had reservations about whether it would continue to be maintained and carry on its service excellence. We are happy to report that it has. We have been loyal fans since we began coming to Olson's cabins which were located partly on this property in the 1960s. In order to enhance your experience, study the layouts of the rooms well and only buy what you need. If you want to come on Thanksgiving weekend or over Christmas, take a second mortgage out on your house or get rid of the teenager who is causing you the most trouble. Otherwise, the "shoulder" seasons make it more affordable. You really don't have to do anything

We always have a wonderful stay at Bluefin Bay, and our last visit was no exception. The resort is well situated on the Lake, and there are so many outdoor activities to do in the area. The staff are attentive and friendly, and the rooms are well-appointed and equiped. Having a resort this nice that welcomes dogs is a huge bonus for us. The complimentary s'mores are my favourite :) and I highly recommend trying the margherita pizza at Coho Café. Thanks for consistently making our holiday to Tofte MN very enjoyable!

This is our go-to place for the last 11 years. It gives me solace & a feeling of tranquility whenever I visit this property. Nestled on the shores of Lake Superior, these villas are one-of-a-kind. The rooms are immaculately clean & well-maintained. A fully stocked kitchen & every unit has every amenity that you can think of. The view is breathtaking & the food is top-notch. I highly recommend this place.

We had our wedding at Bluefin Bay and it was absolutely incredible. The entire experience—from planning to the big day—was beyond our expectations. The staff was amazing: friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. They went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that our guests were happy. The food was outstanding—everyone kept commenting on how delicious everything was. The service throughout our stay was top-notch, and the setting right on Lake Superior made it all feel magical. Bluefin Bay gave us memories we’ll cherish forever. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our wedding. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable North Shore experience!
