Beautiful, historic hotel. Updated while maintaining the essence of the time it was built (early 1900's). It will take you back in time while having the comfort of modern times. From the moment we stepped into the lobby we appreciated the throwback feel and beauty of yesteryear. Our room was gorgeous, spacious, and with a working gas fireplace. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The staff was very friendly. The on-site bar was cool. Tropical decor and feel. Although, I wish the beer selection featured some of the local breweries. The ballroom is very nice as well. I just wish they would utilize the kitchen and offer breakfast and/or dinner. With that being said, there are plenty of places around to get meals. The location is prime, you can walk to downtown shops and get a great meal just a couple blocks away. Ludington has beautiful beaches and the State Park is just amazing, with many accesible trails. The room was nice and big, the whirlpool works and stays hot, but the bathroom was tiny and the shower too slippery. The old fashioned door key was quaint, but I did not feel like the lock was very secure. Our toilet stopped working, and we reported it about midday. When we returned after dinner the entire tank had been replaced and the bathroom was spotless. Excellent job by maintenance! All the staff are friendly and professional! This will be our go to when we return to Ludington.

Well the lobby is cute rooms are clean but VERY outdated. Our tub didn’t drain properly and smelled dank…What made us most upset was they allow teens/young adults to party on the back parking lot till 2am. I called after midnight trying to get some sleep they said there was nothing they can do because it was a bar night. I think this has little to do with the bar night and everything to do with what you allow on the property. I would never book this spot again. Rooms are somewhat gross and if u want to get sleep before 2 am it won’t happen. Highly disappointed.

Stayed a Saturday night at the Stearns prior to taking the car ferry to Wisconsin. The hotel is definitely a throwback to an earlier time, I can’t remember the last time I used an actual key to unlock the door. The room was very simply furnished and rather small. That said, it worked out perfectly for us. Wonderful location not more than five minutes from the ferry with plenty of parking, close to numerous restaurants for dinner and breakfast. Plus central Ludington offered a wonderful setting for an evening stroll on a summer night. While the room was small, the bathroom was spacious and everything was spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great nights rest. We were on the first floor, and I was concerned about sound bleed from the Tiki Bar on a busy Saturday ni
