St. Rita Hotel

My boyfriend and I went on a last minute trip to catch the end of the beach weather in LBI. We found St Rita's online, and chose to listen to the good reviews, I work in the restaurant business and know only too well how unhinged people like to post negative nonsense when things don't go their way. Thankfully our instincts were correct! Our stay was perfect. It's a beautiful old house, and we felt totally at home as soon as we arrived. The hotel owner Marie is a beautiful lady, she was warm and welcoming. Our room was spotless and cool and we loved the patio, we stayed up a little too late relaxing there with some wine! Hotel is situated in a great location and is surprisingly reasonably priced for the area. Already looking forward to next summer to come back and stay here again.

My husband and I booked a night last minute in July. ||||Overall we had a lovely time, and the inn keeper is very sweet. However, we felt the inn could use some updating -- it looked like the last time the inn was updated was in the 1970s. Drop ceilings, paneling, older furniture, sheets, bed spreads. The television and air conditioning were more modern though. It would be so cool to see the inn restored with period furnishings and updated bathrooms instead of the 1970s themed decor.||||We also felt they could offer some amenities that we missed having stayed in other B&Bs. For instance, beach tags were not included, there was not a courtesy/outside shower, so we couldn't go to the beach after our check-out because we had nowhere to freshen up before going home. A spur of the moment ride down to LBI had us deciding to stay down the shore in Beach Haven for the night. The problem was, LBI was sold out everywhere. We finally called the St Rita and Marie answered. I must admit I read some reviews and some matched my initial conversation, which was frustrating because of a bad connection. She was pretty stern over the phone, and bring in sales, plus working in a hotel for 12 years myself, I was a little turned off, but we needed the room. I am so glad we stayed. Upon arriving to this beautiful home built in 1880, it was Victorian and sweet. As soon as you walked in, it had that cool smell of nostalgia that brings you back to wanting to hug your grandma. My friend and I walked in to see if we could get a room for one night. We entered a dark, musty lobby and were greet by an old women, with a nasty look on her face sitting in a caged office. We asked about the price of a room, she told us and said what it included. I asked her if we had a private bathroom and she nastily snapped at me saying ‘I said it did already’! What a way treat potential customers. My friend I turned and walked out. Horrible place. Horrible woman. Time to retire you bat shi** crazy lady!
