Positive: Clean, spacious room Negative: No front desk. Check in was weird. No TV service and the room was CRAZY HOT. It was 50 outside. We had heat off, window and door open to outside and still 75 inside.
The hotel appears new, with the rooms clean, quiet and comfortable. Kristen is a joy. She is invaluable source of information regarding things to do and places to eat in Seward. The only negative thing for us is it does not gather luggage at the train station and take it to the hotel nor provide a "regular shuttle service". When I asked about shuttle service, I should have gotten more details when the response was, "We provide shuttle upon request for $20 for each pick-up or drop-off." As we traveled to Seward by train, we had no car, and taxi and Uber are non-existent. Therefore, we relied on calling Kristen to pick us up or drop us off. This worked well when available, but it also meant leaving voicemails when she was cleaning rooms or running other errands. The nearest restaurant was a
We loved this place. The rooms are new and very modern. The beds are insanely comfortable. They have kitchenettes so we could buy our food at Safeway and bring it back. There was no oven, but there was a microwave. The parking is awkward since there are tight areas to traverse. There are also no peepholes on the doors to see who’s knocking, which is important to me as a woman and being with my kids. It’s a safety issue. I also loved the bathroom, but I wish there were non-stick grips on the shower floor and maybe a bar too. I almost slipped and I have a bad back so it kind of tweaked my back. It’s a safely hazard and a potential for bad legal trouble in the future. Otherwise, it was the nicest place I have ever stayed at in Seward.
The rooms were very clean and modern, and very spacious as well! It was a convenient location, close to the port where our day cruises were leaving from and also the park entrance to Exit Glacier. Self check-in was smooth and clear instructions were provided. I would highly recommend staying in this wonderful place if you are planning a trip to Seward.
This newer lodge provides nice accommodations and spacious rooms. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. While we were there, folks were still working on the rooms and building. There was still construction dust on the floor and baseboards, and in the drawers of the bathroom vanity. The room could have been cleaner. There was no one at the front desk and when I inquired with a housekeeping employee about 2 extra towels for our multiple day stay, I was told, “We don’t do that”. As my husband was coming out of the shower, a housekeeping employee opened our door to give us a “Do Not Disturb” sign. How ironic! It would have been nice to have Kleenex and paper towels provided in our room with a kitchen.
